![]() ![]() The textures and colours were very much done with attention to detail and you can see the amount of effort and passion that went into remaking the game so fans could experience it again with the modern day consoles. Didn’t happen all the time and I managed to get out of the huddle eventually. I found the environment a little awkward at times – I would walk into a room and suddenly there would be an enemy attack and I would end up being pinned by a wall, or the camera wouldn’t turn properly and I would be attacked from behind. Basically lots to collect, upgrade and do!! There are also plenty of collectibles to search for along the way. There are a total of six additional rigs to Isaac’s suit, with four schematics to find if you want to upgrade to the final stage of the outfit. There are a total of nine weapons, each with their own upgrades and ammo type. I laughed at them when I knew they were there and killed them before they even thought about doing the creepy raised arm jog over to me. ![]() You definitely have to be aware of your surroundings and almost pre-empt what’s hiding round each corner – however you can usually hear the creatures, so they don’t always catch you out. Not big on horror games, though I made an exception for this one… I did not regret it! The story, characters, surroundings and even the creatures kept me hooked – wanting to just play and play to find out what happened on the Ishimura. I never played the original, so unfortunately I can’t compare the textures or gameplay, though I can imagine how much the game would have been improved since 2008!! I actually love when games just throw you into the story and you almost feel like you need to catch your breath. It just throws you into the deep end and expects you to swim. The game basically starts off with a bang – literally. You see how the the game’s art, character models, lighting, and visual effects have been refined for today’s generation of platforms. The remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity, suspenseful atmospheric audio, and improvements to gameplay. He was one of the good ones, and could usually make us laugh with only one word.
